Problem Note 55053: Errors in SAS® LIBNAME statements occur for metadata-defined libraries with relative path references

LIBNAME statements that are generated by SAS® Data Integration Studio, SAS® Information Map Studio, SAS® Management Console, SAS® OLAP Cube Studio, or SAS® Web Report Studio might fail with errors if the following conditions are true:

  • The LIBNAME statements are being generated from libraries that are defined within metadata.
  • The Path Specification: field on the Options tab under the library properties contains one or more paths that are not fully qualified.

The LIBNAME statement is incorrectly generated without quotation marks around paths that are not fully qualified. Quotation marks are required around all paths.

This issue can occur with the following library types:

  • Base SAS library
  • SAS Federation Server library
  • SAS Information Map library
  • SAS Scalable Performance Data Engine library
  • SAS Scalable Performance Data Server library
  • SAS TAPE Engine library
  • SAS XML library
  • SAS XMLV2 library
  • SAS/SHARE REMOTE Engine library
